PURPOSE: To provide a small-sized switching power circuit which can improve power factor easily. CONSTITUTION: An inductance element L1 high frequency-operated by a switching element S1 is connected to an input circuit 2 so as to increase a conducting angleαof input current I1 and restrain voltage of a smoothing capacitor C1 from rising and dropping or ripple voltageΔV from increasing. Since the conducting angleαof the input current I1 is increased, power factor can be improved and noise resulting from harmonic distortion can be suppressed. Since the voltage of the smoothing capacitor C1 will not rise and drop or ripple voltageΔV will not increase, it is also possible to prevent output ripple voltage from increasing and facilitate the circuit design.
