PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of character crumbling while constituting a character by combining the character reference data which have been disassembled into left-hand radicals and strokes and to improve the processing speed by making the data as linear as possible. CONSTITUTION: In an outline font device 5, the left-hand radicals and strokes are disassembled into plural reference data (parts data). Then, the data are reassembled to constitute characters and the character data are held. The reference data are placed at prescribed positions and the data are expanded or reduced in size in X and Y directions so as to make the proper size for the character. For a same character, plural reference data having different shapes, designs and weights are used to generate the character in accordance with the size of the character. |
