PURPOSE: To make the diameter of a coaxial cable thinner by providing a conductive layer on the surface of a plastic tape, and winding or longitudinally lapping the tape on a center conductor so that the layer comes outside. CONSTITUTION: A conductive layer 22 is provided on the one side portion of the surface of a plastic tape 21 of polyethylene terephthalate or the like so as to form a tape 20. The layer 22 is formed by the deposition, the electroless plating, or the like of copper, silver or the like. The tape 20 is wound or longitudinally lapped on a center conductor 1 so as to lap a portion where no layer 22 is provided so that the layer 22 is exposed outside. A sheath layer is provided thereon to complete a coaxial cable. Since the tape 20 of from 4μm in thickness is available and the thickness of the layer 22 can be made to be approximately 1μm, the thickness of the insulating body and the outside conductor can significantly be made thin so that the diameter of the cable can be made thinner. |
