PURPOSE: To provide a power converter suitable for improving the voltage utilization factor of output voltage while using an inexpensive control operation device. CONSTITUTION: In a voltage operation circuit 5, if the voltage commands on the axes d and q of the rotation coordinate system as a voltage command vector and the rotational angle, θ of the rotational coordinate system are inputted, a rotation coordinate converter 6 will convert the voltage command vector into the voltage command on the axes α and β of a static coordinate system. On the other hand, a mode judging part 7 forms three sections by conforming the one axis (here, supposed to be axis α) of static coordinate system to one out of the axes of three phases, and judges the section where the inputted voltage command vector is positioned. Next, a three-phase voltage generator 8 switches the contents of operation, based on the result of the judgment of this section, and besides operates three-phase voltage command value, using the voltage command values of axes α and β. Accordingly, operation and processing can be executed by simple addition and subtraction and shift operation, so a power converter which has improved voltage utilization factor and high performance can be materialized at low cost. |
