PURPOSE: To easily and surely discriminate monaural signals by controlling the other input level of L/R signals on the basis of one input level of the signals and, when the L/R signals are monaural signals, always making difference signals between the L/R signals 'zero'. CONSTITUTION: A waveform shaping means 1 separately performs waveform shaping on inputted left(L) signals and right(R) signals. An arithmetic means 2 calculates the level difference between the L and R signals outputted from the shaping means 1 and a control signal generating means 3 generates a control signal based on the output of the arithmetic means 2. An input control means 4 controls so that the signal level difference on the output side of the arithmetic means may become 'zero' by adjusting the signal level on one input side of the arithmetic means 2. A signal detecting means 5 discriminates whether or not the output signal of the arithmetic means 2 is monaural signals by discriminating whether or not the output signal level of the arithmetic means 2 falls within a prescribed range. Therefore, monaural signals can be discriminated surely. |
