PURPOSE: To prevent an electrophotographic photoreceptor drum from being soiled by an ink drop by outputting a message showing that a recording medium is an OHP sheet with respect to a user and allowing the user to select image forming operation on and after it when the recording medium is the OHP sheet as for a composite image forming device. CONSTITUTION: As for the composite image forming device 27, a first image forming means A is the ink jet system image forming device which can output a color image and a second image forming means B is the electrophotographic image forming device which can output a black-and-white image at a high speed. Besides, the device 27 is provided with a first mode in which the image is formed only by the first image forming means A, a second mode in which the image is formed only by the second image forming means B and a third mode in which the image is formed by the first and the second image forming means A and B. By selecting one of three modes based on the result of a data existence discrimination means, an adverse effect is prevented from being exerted on the second image forming means B even when the OHP sheet is carried as the recording medium. |
