Appts. for placing at the head of a line for the continuous treatment of strip, e.g stainless steel strip, necessitating at their ends some drive butts welded to the strip outside the tolerance of its thickness which have subsequently be removed following the treatment of the strip. The appts. comprises a preparation section (13) and an inlet section (11) arranged either side of a turntable (10) on a vertical axis carrying two de-coiler (12) arranged in such a manner that each de-coiler may be substituted for the other by a rotation of the turntable through 180 degrees and that one of the de-coiler faces the inlet section whilst the other de-coiler faces the preparation section. |
