PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of irregularities in an image at the preced ing step, reduction in a density, color mixture and the infiltration of toner in the preceding stage into a developing means at the post-step and to obtain a sufficient image quality from the second color as well. CONSTITUTION: A noncontact alternating electric field two-component developing method is used for a developing process after the first time in a batch transfer type color image recording method. As the conditions of a developing bias VB, an absolute value A of the difference between a maximum bias voltages Vmax for making a toner developing electric field going to the side of a latent image carrier 1 maximum and a developing bias average value Vave is set larger than an absolute value B of the difference between a minimum bias voltage Vmin for making the toner developing electric field going to the side of the latent image carrier 1 and the developing bias average value Vave, the ratio of a bias voltage region C located between the maximum bias voltage Vmax and the developing bias average value Vave to a cycle T of an AC voltage component is set 0.25<=0.45 and further, the frequency D of the AC voltage component of the developing bias VB is set 4kHz to 10kHz. |
