Burr on the edge of micro-holes in a thin-walled stamped part, partic. orifice plate, is rounded off by use of a pulsed laser beam of low power. The beam is passed in linear runs and thus successively over the whole area contg. burrs, heating it up and softening and melting for partial rounding of the burr. The operation is repeated a number of times until the desired degree of rounding is obtained. Pref. each stage is displaced in angle from the previous one, partic. a constant displacement of 180 deg./n, where n is the number of processing stages.
