<p>PURPOSE: To make a driver recognize the existence of an obstacle surely by preventing the insufficient steering control and also prevent erroneous steering wheel operation without excessive steering control. CONSTITUTION: A power steering device controls an actuator 13 for generation of auxiliary steering force by a control value corresponding to the detected steering torque. The control value is changed so that steering control is carried out when the possibility of a collision of a vehicle 10 with an obstacle detected in the steering direction occurs. The control value after change for the steering control is made to be a function of the control value before change. When the value of a detected steering is larger than or equal to a setting value, the function is changed so that a degree of the steering control may become large compared with the case of the value less that the setting value.</p> |
