PURPOSE: To provide high recording grade plain paper type ink jet recording paper capable of suppressing the expansion of ink dots or whisker like blur while keeping ink quick drying properties and high image density when ink jet recording is performed using aq. ink with specific surface tension. CONSTITUTION: In ink jet recording paper performing recording by bonding aq. ink droplets with surface tension of 30-45dyne/cm, the recording paper is obtained by providing a recording layer based on synthetic silica and an aq. binder on at least the single surface of base paper containing at least a filler and an internal size agent so that the solid component per a single surface is 0.5-4.0g/m<2> and the contact angle measured using water of the surface of the recording layer is 100-120 deg.. |
