The brake roller pair (1,2) has a turning shaft (4) linking the rollers, fixed to a pedal lever (5) and to each brake roller, and connected to a brake cam (6,7). The cams can make a positive brake connection to their rollers, depending on the turn position. The turning shaft is divided transversely to the axial direction. The two ends (21,22) facing each other are fixed to each other by a connecting device (23). The shaft is divided in the axial centre between the brake rollers. The connecting device may be a coupling sleeve. The facing ends of the shaft may be faceted to fit in apertures in the coupling sleeve.
