Removal of play in pair of geared adjusters for car seat

A procedure is described for removing play in a pair of gears for a self-locking adjuster on a mechanically stiff car seat assembly at the end of each adjustment process. Each gear is driven by an electric motor in the same direction during the adjustment process and at the end of the process, the assembly is tensioned between the different shut-down times of the two motors until the play in the two gearboxes is removed. The current to the later motor to shut down is limited from the time that the first motor is shut down. The later motor to shut down does this when its current, speed or torque reach a preset threshold.
