A device essentially designed for carrying bags with handles made of plastic or another material of the kind that are provided in shops and superstores for carrying purchased goods. The device comprises a flexible band (1) extending through a hole in a rigid element (2) and having its ends joined together. The band is designed not to hurt the user's hand and uses a noose-like knot enabling a number of bags to be gathered tightly together and held closed. As a result, the user holds a single wide, flexible handle instead of several handles (4) that dig into his or her hand when the bags are full. Back home, the user can easily release the bags by pulling on the rigid element (2) which always remains at the centre of the knot.
