To prepare quinazolone azo pigments of the formula 4, in which R<1> is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine or nitro, R<2> and R<3> are hydrogen or chlorine, R<4> is hydrogen, chlorine, methoxy or methyl, and X is cyano or carbamoyl, diazo compounds of suitable quinazolone anilines are reacted with suitable pyridinediol derivatives. These pigments are highly suitable for colouring printing inks for the graphic trades, paints, coatings, plastics or rubber and are distinguished by an extremely high yield and colour strength. <IMAGE> |
