<p>The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for decoding RLL modulated data using tables of reduced sizes whereby the data are recorded on an optical disk, specifically a digital video disk (DVD). Even if an element such as a ROM is not used, a code reverse conversion can be realized by a sufficiently small scale circuit to be effective for integration.
