Electric connector for an integrated circuit contact card

The connector has a support (14) made from an insulating material which contains a housing (22) having longitudinal sides (28) and a rear edge (30). The bottom of the housing (22) has apertures which allow curved sprung contacts (40) to engage with conducting fields on the lower surface of the memory card (C). The memory card (C) is slid into the housing (22) leaving sufficient of it outside to facilitate manipulation. The connector has contacts (48) at either end which connect the sprung contacts (40) to external equipment and it is protected by a sliding metal lid (52) which has test apertures (68).
