<p>Discrete piles of different coloured fibres are arranged on a sieve in accordance with a desired pattern, and a high frequency current is applied to the sieve to charge the fibres. The sieve is vibrated so that the fibres pass through the sieve onto an adhesive coated base web to form a pile pattern having different coloured fibres in different regions on the surface of the base web. Pref. the sieve has side walls and separator walls for defining compartments in which the different piles of fibres are contained. The different coloured fibres are applied simultaneously, instead of in stages, resulting in a faster process.</p> |
