<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tape drive device capable of using even if a data tape minicartridge is an old type, or if it is a new type having a larger size than the old type, and of accurately aligning to a tape drive and latching. SOLUTION: A force 404 is applied from an upper face side of a base plate so that a reference point 406 on a bottom face of the base plate of a cartridge is depressed to a rearward reference point 408 of a drive, and further a front face of the base plate is depressed to a pedestal stop 156. A force 400 is applied from a top cover of the cartridge so that a front reference point 306 of the drive is depressed to a reference point 214 on a bottom face of the base plate. Thus, it is possible to accurately align and latch without providing separate reference points in each of the new type and old type cartridges.</p> |
