摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve of the comfortableness in shift by a discrete step gear box and prevent overheating by adjusting the transmission input rotational speed while regulating the required deceleration value in relation to the speed reduction torque to be generated by a frictional connection in controlling the transmission torque of the frictional connection in the shift control of the automatic transmission. SOLUTION: An automatic transmission is located between transmission elements and has a frictional connection which can be engaged and disengaged in accordance with the rotational speed stage previously adapted and the rotational speed stage newly adapted. At the time when the transmission input rotational speed reaches the value corresponding to a new speed stage, a rotational speed adaptation phase is made to stop to get a new speed stage. In this case, the actual value of the transmission input rotational speed is compared 31 with a target deceleration value in the rotation speed adaptation phase to determine the correction value from the deviation as a result of the comparison. Delay adjustment is superimposed to the control of the transmission torque determining the changes of the transmission input rotational speed so that the target torque value is determined by this proper value. The target torque value is thus calculated from the transmission input torque and transmission torque.
