PURPOSE: To provide a composite electrode excellent in a battery characteristic, particularly in an initial characteristic by using conductive high polymer polyaniline having the peak in an infrared absorption spectrum on an nitrogen atom made into a quaternary one, as an active material in an electrode. CONSTITUTION: An electrode is basically composed of a mixture of conductive high polymer polyaniline (an active material 1) and a particle-shaped inorganic active material (an active material 2). In order to sufficiently exhibit performance when polyaniline is used, it is preferable to use polyaniline on which the absorption peak of 1140cm<-1> on a nitrogen atom made into a quaternary one is not observed in an infrared absorption spectrum. A rate of a conductive high polymer becoming a dope condition increases in the active material 2 by compounding the active material 1 and the active material 2 of not being in a dope condition, and an electrode excellent in a battery characteristic is obtained. V2 O5 having a particle diameter not more that 10 micron is used by 30wt.% or more as the active material 2. |
