PURPOSE: To discharge hot water hardly conducting heat of hot water or vapor to fingers at the time of discharging the hot water by providing a belt-like high peripheral part higher than a corner peripheral part where a hot water discharging hole is positioned on a container lid. CONSTITUTION: A rectangular container for receiving instant food which requires hot water discharging after injection of the hot water comprises a lid 4 having at least two belt-like high peripheral parts higher than a corner peripheral part where a hot water discharging hole 2 is positioned and a container body 3 having corners 7 and the belt-like high peripheral parts 1 shaped along the lid 4, wherein the lid 4 is fitted into the container body 3. The belt-like high peripheral part 1 of the lid 4 is preferably placed except at the corner peripheral parts 7 where the hot water discharging holes 2 are positioned and its position is at least at an intermediate position of each peripheral part of the container. Thus when the hot water is discharged with the high peripheral part 1 pressed by fingers, the hot water can be safely discharged with such danger that the container cannot be held with the fingers heated or the hot water drops on the finger eliminated.
