FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to high-voltage polymer insulators. Polymer insulator includes rod of electric insulation material, crack-resistant shell, metal end terminals and screen put inside shell. One of side surface of screen has semi-conductive layer. It is proposed to install screen in face part of insulator so that its butt part is positioned between rod and end terminal. Screen is manufactured from fibrous material impregnated with compound. Height of screen may be chosen from ratio 1.2-4.0 height of end terminal. Screen may be produced in the form of turns of glass bundle impregnated with thermally reactive compound. EFFECT: increased operational reliability due to high electric and mechanical strength. |
