LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING PLATE MICROLENS ARRAY

PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device provided with a plate microlens array having excellent light condensing characteristic without necessitating special contrivance for eliminating the unevenness of the thickness of resin with which the plate microlens array is filled in a transmission type liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: In this liquid crystal display device, the plate microlens array 100 for condensing light from a light source for illuminating an element on the liquid crystal aperture window part of a transmission type liquid crystal display element is arranged between the liquid crystal display element and the light source. The plate microlens array 100 is constituted by filling a space between a 1st transparent base plate 101 provided with plural array recessed parts 104 and a 2nd transparent base plate 103 with transparent resin 102, and constituted so that the base plate 101 is arranged on a side near to the liquid crystal aperture window part of the liquid crystal display element and the base plate 103 is arranged on a side far from the window part.
