PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device whose contrast is high and whose angle of visibility is wide, and its production. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device 1 is equipped with a 1st ITO 21 and a 2nd ITO 22 provided in a state where a liquid crystal layer 10 is put between them, a light source 6 emitting nearly parallel light toward the liquid crystal layer 10, and a diffusing means 3 diffusing the light which has just transmitted through the liquid crystal layer 10. Then, the device 1 is produced by providing a light source 6 after arranging the diffusing means 3 on a 1st glass plate 41 through transparent polymer 32, forming the 1st ITO 21 and a 1st oriented film 11, then forming the 2nd ITO 22 and a 2nd oriented film 12 on a 2nd glass plate 42, and injecting the liquid crystal between the 1st and the 2nd oriented films 11 and 12. |
