PURPOSE: To surely dilute absorbent solution when cooling operation is stopped without providing expensive equipment. CONSTITUTION: When cooling operation is stopped, the intermittent operation of a solution circulation pump is started (103) after heating of a high temperature regenerator is stopped (102). The solution circulation pump is stopped (104) when a specified time elapses, and temperatures of absorbent solution in the high temperature regenerator are detected (105) at the higher and lower two points ten minutes after the stoppage of the solution circulation pump. A temperature differenceΔT between the temperatures detected at the upper and lower two points is calculated (106) and compared with a limit value T0 . IfΔT<=To, it is judged that the concentration of the absorbent solution drops to a target value or lower, and dilution operation is finished. If the equationΔT<=To is not satisfied, it is judged that the concentration of the absorbent solution has not yet dropped to the target value or lower. Intermittent operation of the solution circulation pump 54 is started again and the steps (103)-(107) are repeated until the equationΔT<To is satisfied. By this, without providing expensive additional equipment, it can be surely checked that the absorbent solution in the high-temperature regenerator has dropped below a concentration at which crystallization of the absorption solution does not occur.
