PURPOSE: To shorten time for reception and to reduce communication costs by arbitrarily selecting and receiving the required data part of circulating data from the side of a perusal terminal while utilizing a VAN center. CONSTITUTION: When transmitting the circulating data prepared by a personal computer 10 for record preparation to a VAN center 12, these data are transmitted while being divided into a cover part and item parts for each of record data and writing the number of records in these cover and item parts into the user data area of a circulating data transmitting command. When reading the circulating data registered in a data storage part 124 by accessing the VAN center 12 from a personal computer 11 for record data perusal, first of all, the list data of circulating data are received, the desired circulating data to be read are selectively instructed out of the list data, and the perusal range of circulating data is designated while referring to the number of records in the list data. Data within the designated range are received from the VAN center 12, the cover data, item data or all of the circulating data are read at the personal computer 11 for data perusal. |
