PURPOSE: To prevent as much as possible the accumulation of errors in a residual capacity memory through the enhancement of energy efficiency by giving refreshing operations to a battery and, at the same time, clearing a residual capacity memory portion for storing the residual capacity of the battery to zero. CONSTITUTION: When charging a battery 12 from a commercial AC power source, the battery 12 is discharged until its residual capacity reaches a lower limit value before charging and a refresh operation for recovering to the commercial AC power source is performed, its residual capacity is detected and memorized in a residual capacity memory region of EEPROM, and the residual capacity memory region of the EEPROM is cleared to zero by a control circuit 39 within the configuration of this charging equipment. |
