PURPOSE: To obtain a radiation detection apparatus whose detection efficiency is enhanced by correcting the scattering, attenuation and leakage of a radiation during the period from the incidence of gamma rays on a detector to its conversion to a detectable signal and of converted photons or electrons. CONSTITUTION: A control part 11 computes a scattering ratio in whichγ-rays incident on a detector 13 are not converted into photons by a scintillator 14 and a scattering ratio in which the photons converted by the scintillator 14 are not received by a photo-multiplier part 15, and the respective scattering retios are stored in a memory 20. Then, the distribution of counted values at every energy obtained from an output signal from the photo-multiplier part 15 by an actual measurement is divided into a plurality of regions (subwindows) in a constant energy width while the energy peak (main window) of a highest counted value is used as the center. On the basis of the counted value of the subwindows, a scattering component which is to be included primarily in the main window is computed on the basis of the scattering ratio, and it is moved in the main window so as to correct the scattering of a photographed image.
