Blow moulding closure system esp. for rapid, accurate double-station operation

This system moves a mould clamping unit (7), used in a blow-moulding plant, which is advanced and retracted by an electric motor (16) between holding- and blowing positions for the parison. The novel feature is the use of a crank (12) to convert rotation of the motor (16) into linear motion. In a similar system to move two mould clamping units, also claimed, electric motors (16) move both mould clamping units. In this case the blowing position may be on the left or right side of the parison holding position. Each crank arm (12) pivots at one end on a mould clamping unit, and at the other, on a crank (13) turned by an electric motor (16). Pref. a shock absorber (25, 6) eliminates shift or misalignment in the parison holding- and blowing positions.
