PURPOSE: To obtain a controller for a stepping motor in which the maximum load current can be reduced by suppressing fluctuation in the load current of the stepping motor when a plurality of stopping motors are driven simultaneously. CONSTITUTION: When two flaps are operated simultaneously, a flap control circuit 1a at a control section 1 delivers a control signal to a flap drive circuit 2 and a control signal with a predetermined time lag to a flap drive circuit 3 through a delay circuit 1b. A stepping motor 4 repeats single-phase excitation and two-phase excitation alternately according to a drive signal delivered from the flap drive circuit 2. On the other hand, a stepping motor 5 repeats single- phase excitation and two-phase excitation alternately, according to the drive signal delivered from the flap drive circuit 3, with a predetermined time lag from the stepping motor 4 so that the number of excited phase each of the stepping motors 4, 5 is not maximized. Since the number of fully-excited phases of the stepping motors 4, 5 repeats two-phase and three-phase excitation alternately, the maximum load current can be reduced. |
