PURPOSE: To improve the using rate of an active material containing nickel hydroxide as a principanl constituent so as to provide a non-sintered type nickel electrode with a large capacity by adding a specific manganese composite oxide. CONSTITUTION: A particle containing nickel hydroxide serving as an active material as a principal constituent and a manganese composite oxide represented by a formula A1-x Rex MnO3-t (X is 0.005-0.5, A is at least one kind of element selected from Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba, Re represents a rare earth element, (t) is a value less than 3) are mixed so as to be fill ed in a conductive core body, and a non-sintered type nickel electrode is composed. |
