PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a memory capacity by properly allocating mapping of a DRAM to execute MPEG-expansion for a PAL format. SOLUTION: A video frame consists of 576 active video lines each having 352 sets of 8-bit pixels. The mapping of DRAM is executed for MPEG-expansion for the PAL format using B from. Buffers 70, 76 of 576 lines each are assigned for luminance signals of an anchor frame for forward/backward prediction and buffers 74, 78 of 288 lines each are assigned for chrominance signals respectively. Buffers 80, 82 for the luminance signals and buffers 78, 84 of 288 lines each for the chrominance signals are assigned for 1st and 2nd B fields reconfigured from the anchor frame. In this case, 288 lines are assigned for the buffer 82 but 144-line is enough for the buffer 80 because the capacity is reduced for display on the way of decoding. |
