[Class 94 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] A paper bag-making machine for plain, satchel-type or block-bottom bags is arranged to fold and seal the appropriate edges of sheet material into a number of tubes to be cut into bag lengths within the capacity normally available for a single wide class of bag. Fig. 2, shows an arrangement for making bags in pairs. The web is divided by a pair of rotary dished cutter discs 13, 15, Fig. 3, the edges of which may overlap slightly and are kept in contact by a spring 17. Either or both of the discs may be driven. The individual bags may be cut off as described in Specification 457,117 and, in the case of. satchel or block-bottom bags, the folding mechanism may be that described in Specification 485,662. |
