PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device where the reduction of costs is attained by eliminating the need of a cooling fan motor for an optical scanner, whose cooling efficiency is high and where the inactive time of a copying operation is short and the productivity of copies is high. CONSTITUTION: When a temperature detecting means 5 detects that the temperature of the movable optical scanner 4 of the image forming device 1 having the movable optical scanner 4 which possesses a light source 3 irradiating the original of an original platen 2 with light and the temperature detecting means 5 detecting and outputting the temperature of the optical scanner 4 becomes equal to or above first reference temperature, the light emission of the light source 3 is stopped and the moving operation of the optical scanner 4 is performed, and when the temperature detecting means 5 detects that the temperature becomes equal to or below second reference temperature that is lower than the first reference temperature, an image forming operation is started. |
