PURPOSE: To provide the surround signal processor and the video and sound reproducing device reproducing all of discrete 5 channel (5ch) with a couple of speakers arranged in front symmetrical to the left and right. CONSTITUTION: A signal processing means 2 receiving 5ch signals from a demodulator 1 and reproducing the demodulated signal from speakers 3L, 3R arranged to positions in front of a listener symmetrical to the left and right is provided with left and right sound image localization filters 21a, 21b to which coefficients based on a head transfer function are set for each channel of rear surrounding signals SL, SR, and similar right and left sound image localization filters 21c, 21d, adders 21f, 21g adding a center channel signal VC via an attenuator 21e to front stereo signals L, R, an adder 21h adding the output signal of the left side sound image localization filter 21a and the output signal of the right side sound image localization filter 21c to an output signal of the adder 21f, and an adder 21i adding the output signal of the left side sound image localization filter 21b and the output signal of the right side sound image localization filter 21d to an output signal of the adder 21g. |
