PURPOSE: To transmit stable high quality signals and to miniaturize the transmitter scale by mitigating distortion characteristic due to an optical device such as a photodiode which determines the distortion characteristic of an optical transmission line. CONSTITUTION: This transmitter is provided with an electric/optic transducing part 1 for transducing electric signals to optical signals by using a long wavelength band laser light source, the optical transmission line 3 composed of a single mode optical fiber whose one end part is connected through a coupling part 2 provided with an oblique end face to the electric/optic transducing part 1, an optic/electric transducing part 5 connected through the coupling part 4 provided with the oblique end face to the other end part of the optical transmission line 3 for transducing the optical signals to the electric signals by using a photodetector and a distortion compensation part 6 provided on an electric signal transmission line 6-1 on the input side of the electric/optic transducing part 1 for compensating distortion generated in an optical transmission system. |
