PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for preparing the data base of document information. SOLUTION: In this system for preparing the data base of the document information, a sample document 12 is scanned in a scanner 14 connected to a personal computer 16 and then, the digital images of the scanned document are stored. The digital images are displayed on the screen of a computer display unit 24 as visible images in an order. Also, by using a mouse 26, a box-shaped area is displayed on the screen, manually handled and sized and as a result, a position for performing storage in a zone and a document definition file is defined. An identification feature file is formed by analyzing the stored digital images and then, a graphical feature such as the straight line of a graphic is decided. The zone is confirmed by a confirmation procedure for which the document is supplied to the scanner 14 again. |
