PURPOSE: To provide magnetostrictive material, which is superior in magnetostrictive characteristics and mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION: Supermagnetostrictive alloy having a composition, which is shown by a formula RTx (The R shows one kind of rare-earth metal or two kinds or more of rare-earth metal, the T shows one kind of transition metal or two kinds or more of transition metal, which is selected from among iron, cobalt, nickel and manganese, and the (x) shows 1.5 to 2.0), is made by a method, such as coating, and magnetostrictive material is manufactured by impregnating the obtained supermagnetostrictive alloy with heat curing or self-curing resin material, such as epoxy resin. |
