PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the method to precisely estimate a motion of a feature point by using number of edge points in a retrieval grid so as to roughly determine the feature point so as to set a retrieval area where an object feature point is used for its center pixel. SOLUTION: An edge detection block 100 obtains a gradient at each pixel position based on a sober operator or the like, discriminates a pixel at an edge point when the gradient is larger than a prescribed threshold value and gives the pixel position to 1st and 2nd blocks 130, 150. The 1st selection block 130 sets a retrieval area of 11×11 pixels around a grid point from a grid point supply block 110 as a center pixel to retrieve the area for each of 5×5 pixel processing blocks and gives a coordinate of the center pixel of the processing block including majority edge points to the 2nd selection block 150 as spare feature points. The 2nd selection block 150 makes similar retrieval to a retrieval area where a spare feature point is used newly for its center pixel and provides an output of a center pixel coordinate of the processing block including the majority edge points as feature point information. |
