Disclosed herein are apparatuses and methods for forming a graphic image on a surface wherein a portion of the graphic image has the appearance of three dimensionality. The apparatuses include a dispensing system that applies a flowable material onto the surface so as to form a lenticular layer to thereby produce the portion of the graphic image having the appearance of three dimensionality. The methods include the steps of providing a surface, printing an image on the surface, wherein a portion of the image is a three dimensional precursor image, and applying a flowable material onto the three dimensional precursor image so as to form a lenticular layer and to thereby produce a graphic image.
