Column-less tool closure system for injection moulding machines with C-frame

A column-less tool closure mechanism is claimed for a C-framed injection moulding machine with the fixed tool-carrying platen (2) on one shank (1.1), an end platen (3) on the other shank (1.1) and a moving tool-carrying platen (4) between them with anti-friction bearings (12) moving along guide rails (5) on the C-frame (1). The guide rails (5) are held horizontally on to the frame by friction, pressed vertically against the fixed tool-carrying (2) and end (3) platens by springs (10) and supported underneath by springs (11) between the end (3) and fixed tool-carrying (2) platens.
