Finishing head for plate-like workpieces

The finishing head includes a vertically adjustable tension device (9) mounted above the workpiece support face on a support frame and having a stop (26) for the work pieces (3). The stop device (26) is formed by at least two stops (27) which are spaced from each other in the direction of the guide path or slit like recess (17) for the tool (18) and are adjustable vertically relative to the workpiece support face (5). The stops form a stop plane for the workpieces which runs parallel to the guide path of the tool. The stop device can have a drive (28) for the height and/or side adjustment , eg a pressurised cylinder (29).
