Hoist for handling hardtop

The hardtop is gripped by a T-shaped frame (13) with one section set across the roof and one section (14) aligned over the rear window of the hardtop. The T-frame is supported from two cable systems (6,7) looped over guide wheels in an overhead support frame (4), and operated by a common winch (8). The ends of the T-frame are fitted with adjustable straps with clamps (20,24) at the ends to grip the edges of the hardtop. The rear section (14) of the T-frame is rigidly attached to the cross section and is bent downwards over the rear window. The winch is manually operated or can be fitted with a servo motor. The hoist frame can be floor mounted and portable, or has a top section mounted under a garage roof.
