FIELD: hoisting-and-conveying machinery; rope locks; clamp for splicing towropes, cargoropes and other ropes; wedge-type bushes or sockets for connecting ropes to suspensions of cargo-gripping mechanisms; winches, cargo-hoisting, hauling, towing mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: proposed coupling excludes splicing of eye splices. When rope is tightened in one side, ropes are self-wedged inside coupling and when rope is tight-tightened in opposite side, rope is released; clamping force increased with rise of load of tension. Coupling has four walls, partition and two or four rollers; simplified construction of coupling makes it possible to manufacture it by present-day technology, semi-automatic or automatic method. Coupling may be made in 3 or 4 standard sizes. New high-strength light materials may be used for manufacture of coupling. EFFECT: facilitated handling of steel ropes; avoidance of splicing eye splices. |
