Exchanging numerous moulding shells used on pipe insulation plant

This procedure and device quickly exchange outer support shells used by a plant for continuous foaming of pipe insulation sections. The shells are located on the plant line where moulding takes place, carried in a number of housings, fastened on two endless travelling chains. On change over, the shells on the outer strand of each chain are exchanged. In the new method, the shells (1) are laid by type in cassettes (5), which are units fitting all types of shell, pref. on a special trolley (4). This has conveyors (4.1), a three section roller track (3) with a height adjustable supply section, an exchange section and a further height adjustable removal section. It is parallel to the travelling chain (6).
