The stand (12) has a base (44) which is fixed to the basket (22) of a supermarket trolley (10). The base is fixed to the front (24) of the basket by a U-shaped bar (14) which is joined to the base by two plates. Its ends are fixed to hooks which clip on to the top of the basket. The back of the base is fixed to the sides of the basket (28,30) by hooks (16). These are fixed to the base by two plates on its inner sides on which the hooks slide transversally and are fixed in position by wing nuts.
