A ROD CONSTRUCTION

A rod construction comprising a tube (7) and a flat rod (11) one end of which is connected with a spot on the side of the tube. At the connection piece the tube has a longitudinal slit (14) and the rod close to the end two opposite incisions (12; 13) with a first and a second set of incision edges (12', 13'; 12", 14") and such a shape that the slit by mounting can be placed in the incisions with the inner side of the tube at the end of the slit in contact with the edges of the first edge set, while at least one of the edges of the second edge set forms an acute angle with the axis of the tube. The construction furthermore comprises a wedge (17) for driving in between the latter edge and the tube in order to lock the connection. The construction is suitable for e.g. underframes for plant tables. The single parts of the underframes can in compact, stuffed condition be freighted to the consumer's place and quickly and easily be mounted here. Thereby considerable transportation costs are saved.
