ENGINEERED ACARID ALLERGEN AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

A process for producing an engineered main acarid allergen which comprises incubating a procaryotic or eucaryotic organism that has been transformed by a replication vector containing a gene encoding an engineered Der f II wherein, in a gene encoding the major acarid allergen Der f II and having a specific DNA sequence, an amino acid at a specific position of the major acarid allergen Der f II has been replaced by another amino acid other than alanine, and harvesting the engineered major acarid allergen from the culture; the acarid allergen thus produced; and a polypeptide and a DNA strand containing a specific amino acid sequence. The genetically engineered main dermatophagoides allergen (Der f II) is applicable to a remedy for allergic diseases.
