The device is used to fit the printed circuit board edge into the reception slot (21) provided in the edge connector housing (17), so that the circuit board conductor paths are contacted by respective contact elements (28) spaced along the reception slot. The contact elements have plug pins (29) and spring tongues (30) bent in the direction of the slot plane, for contacting the conductor paths, with the circuit board edge inserted in the connector housing from the plug pin side.
